Juventus Patient To Pursue Scholes
LONDON, November 8 (DS) - Paul Scholes is eyed by Serie A Juventus FC after
Manchester United FC fined the player's two-week wages for missing Monday's
Worthington Cup match against Arsenal, reported Evening Standard.
The England midfielder, who missed both the team and the bench in the match
that Arsenal won 4-0, now paid J80.000 for his insolence. Presently the
Italian agent, who regularly works for Juventus, is set on task to make
inquiries over the 26-year-old player's price and further details.
Scholes had been left out from the line-up during United's 3-1 defeat to
Liverpool the day before and was ordered to travel to London with the
reserves, which is said to be foregoing the meeting of the midfielder with
Red Devils' boss.
Juventus will be patient in their hunt for the player they see as the ideal
man to add drive and invention to their pursuit for domestic and Champions
League success.
Scholes was yesterday encouraged by England coach Sven Goran Eriksson, who
promised to start him on Saturday's clash against Sweden at Old Trafford.
