Fed-Up Grabbi Targets Juve Move
Saturday 27th October 2001
Blackburn Rovers striker Corrado Grabbi wants a transfer to Juventus after failing to settle in England following a 6.75m summer switch.
"I do not feel at home here. It is cold and the daily training is the opposite to what I am used to in Italy," he moaned.
"It would be my dream to return to Juventus, where my father and grandfather played. I have not adjusted in Blackburn, even if I am the idol of the fans."
Juventus are short of options up front after recent injuries to Marcelo Salas and Nicola Amoruso, but could not buy Grabbi until January, when the Serie A transfer window opens.
The former Ternana forward would like to escape Ewood Park as soon as possible, though. "As soon as I can, I will go back to Italy.
"I still dream about playing for Juventus. I would even accept being on the bench to return to Turin as I still have the enthusiasm of a little kid for my club," he said.
Grabbi, a Juventus reserve in 1994-95, moved to Chievo in November 1995, then spent the next two seasons with Modena before joining Ternana.
After scoring twice in 14 appearances, he switched to Ravenna and hit the back of the net 13 times in 29 games.
He rejoined Ternana for the 2000-2001 campaign and caught the eye of Blackburn boss Graeme Souness with 20 goals in 34 appearances.
