Juve And Roma Top Euro Bill

PARIS, Sept 28 (AFP) The Serie A match between Champions AS Roma and pretenders Juventus tops the European bill on Saturday as Juve look to put last week's goalless draw with Lecce behind them and Roman seek to forget a poor start.

Roma are buoyed up by their recent 2-1 wins over Fiorentina and Lokomotiv Moscow - both after going a goal down - in the league and the Champions League while Juve were unimpressive midweek at Rosenborg.

It all makes for a thrilling encounter at the Stadio Delle Alpi and is bound to resurrect memories of last year's 2-2 thriller in the same fixture which went a long way to deciding the title in Roma's favour.

With five rounds of games remaining Roma travelled to Turin six points ahead of their rivals but when Juventus took a 2-0 lead within six minutes it looked as though that margin would be halved.

Roma turned things around as Japanese substitute Hidetoshi Nakata scored a brilliant goal before creating an injury-time equaliser for Vincenzo Montella and Roma were on the way to their first title in 18 years.

But there is no Nakata this time as he has joined Parma while Brazilian defender Antonio Zago will be missing because of a three-match ban for elbowing Fiorentina's Paolo Vanoli off the ball.

Juve will be without Dutch midfielder Edgar Davids and Uruguayan defender Paolo Montero suspended following a brawl in the closing seconds of the Lecce match.

Anything less than a win for Juve will leave both Milan clubs with a chance to go top either on their own or together.

Inter take on Bologna, who have three wins in four games this term, at the San Siro.

AC Milan, currently second, are reinforced with the loan signing from Monaco of former star Marco Simone, visit Perugia.

All the top three sides are level on ten points after four matches but Bologna and newcomers Chievo are just a point adrift.
