Bonetti Backs Celtic To Shock Juventus

Friday 14th September 2001

Dundee manager Ivano Bonetti believes Celtic can beat Juventus in the Champions' League next week. "Celtic have a chance of doing something against them, especially if they play the way they did against Ajax," the Italian said.

Bonetti won the Serie A title with Juventus in 1985, playing alongside players such as Michel Platini and Michael Laudrup and he insisted if Celtic show the right mental attitude, they can shine in Turin.

"It is 11 against 11 and anything can happen. Celtic must take their winning mentality with them," he said. "One of the reasons Celtic won the title last season was because they believed in themselves.

"Juve will be very aggressive and work as a unit. Celtic have to do the same things and give them no space to play."
