Nedved: No One Can Stop Juve
TORINO, September 12 (DS) - Even though Pavel Nedved won't play in the opening fixture of Group E with Celtic due to disqualification, he believes there's no club that can stop Juventus in the Champions League.
UEFA postponed this week's round of fixtures as a mark of respect to the victims of the terrorist attacks on the United States. Czech international winger Nedved joined Juventus for 25 million pounds and he believes the side's squad is the strongest he has ever seen.
Nedved, suspended for next week's game, said: "I am convinced if this team plays as it should nobody can overpower us, no matter how strong they are. We have to follow the coach Marcello Lippi's ideas and if we do so then there is success to take in Serie A and the Champions League.
"Now Marcelo Salas has joined us I believe we are even stronger than before," added Nedved. "He is a fantastic striker, and Lippi has plenty of options, all of which are impressive. Even before Salas arrived we had a superb duo of strikers with Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet. We have started well and we mean to continue that way."
Juventus' other signings include Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and French international Lilian Thuram for a total of pounds 56 million.
