Montero Struggling For Fitness

TURIN, June 15 (Reuters) - Juventus defender Paolo Montero could miss Sunday's crucial final game of the season against Atalanta due to a hamstring injury.

The club said on their official website that Montero's participation in the game was 'uncertain'.

Second-placed Juve are two points behind leaders Roma, who face Parma in the capital, and one point ahead of third-placed Lazio who are away to Lecce.

Uruguayan defender Montero has been the lynchpin of the Juve defence this season, but coach Carlo Ancelotti may now have to turn to veteran Ciro Ferrara or shift Croat Igor Tudor into a more central role.

Juventus have imposed a blanket press ban on players and officials in the run-up to Sunday's decisive game, but Italian newspapers reported that striker Filippo Inzaghi and Dutch midfielder Edgar Davids clashed during training on Thursday.

The daily Corriere dello Sport carried a picture of the two appearing to square up to each other during an in-house practice match but the paper said the scuffle was halted by the intervention of Montero and Ancelotti.
