Cipriani Repeats Juventus Rejection

Wednesday 28th March 2001

Highly-rated star Giacomo Cipriani has reiterated his reluctance to move from Bologna to Juventus at the end of the season. "Juventus - no, thanks," said the young striker on Wednesday.

Since replacing Argentine forward Julio Cruz as Giuseppe Signori's first-choice striking partner in Bologna's forward line last month, Cipriani has been revelling in the chance to play for the side he has supported all his life.

But the press continue to link the Under-21 international with a move to Juventus, as they half own his registration.

"I want to stay here," he said firmly. "If it depends on me, there would be no problems or doubts. What we have here is the perfect atmosphere."

"At Juventus there are many champions, so it's difficult to emerge, while in Bologna I feel protected."
