Europe Blow Could Help Us, Admits Ancelotti
Juventus coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his side's shock Champions'
League elimination could help them win the coveted Italian league title.
"We are in fantastic shape and we are hungry," he said. "Now I think it will
be a battle until the end of the season between Roma, Lazio and us - we will
go on struggling for the Scudetto.
"We have a good defence and Van der Sar is answering all his critics. I have
to say also that the players have not asked to switch our three-man defence
to a four-man system. I had the idea myself after we were eliminated from
the Champions' League.
"To go out of Europe helped us work a lot and better during the week. But
I'm disappointed because this Juventus side would have done fantastically in
the Champions' League. The problem is we started work later this season
because all the player were at Euro 2000."
