Ancelotti Not Worried By Capello Rumours

Tuesday 6th February 2001

Juventus coach Carlo Ancelotti has laughed off rumours suggesting Roma boss Fabio Capello was going to replace him at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

Ancelotti, who took over at the Turin giants two years ago, joked: "Capello? He is too much expensive."

He added on a more serious note: "I am sure about my future, Juventus have often showed faith in me."

Meanwhile Ancelotti defended his striker Alessandro Del Piero after he was criticised for a poor performance during the weekend's 2-1 defeat at Atalanta.

"For me he did his job in Bergamo," Ancelotti maintained. "It's true that he doesn't score many goals, but I didn't make too many goals in the past. I don't like to use numbers to judge a player."
