Juve Face Selection Headache
Saturday 13th January 2001
Juventus coach Carlo Ancelotti is facing selection problems in midfield
ahead of Sunday's clash with Bologna.
Alessio Tacchinardi is suspended and the combative pairing of Antonio Conte
and Edgar Davids are both injured, so Fabian O'Neill is set to gain his
chance in the first-team.
The Uruguayan, a summer arrival from Cagliari, has been suffering from a
number of injuries this season and has yet to show his true form.
Fellow Uruguayan Paolo Montero is set to return to the centre of defence,
while David Trezeguet is set to partner the in-form Filippo Inzaghi up
front.
After last week's disappointing draw at home to Fiorentina, the Turin club
will be desperate to get back to winning ways in order to keep in touch with
runaway leaders Roma.
Carlo Nevro and Massimo Tarrantino are injured for the visitors, while
midfielder Jonatan Binotto is suspended.
In midfield, on-loan Enzo Maresca is set to come up against his proper club.
The youngster joined Bologna earlier this season after failing to win a
first-team place at the Delle Alpi.
