TURIN, Italy, Dec 12 (Reuters) - Italy forward Alessandro Del Piero will be out for at least a month with the latest in a series of injuries.
'He suffered a muscle injury to his right thigh and will be out for a 30 to 40 day period,' Juventus club doctor Riccardo Agricola said on the club's website.
Del Piero, whose 1998 World Cup and 1998-99 season were ruined by successive injuries, will miss Juve's Serie A visit to Lecce and a key clash at league leaders AS Roma on the weekend before Christmas.
Juventus, six points behind Roma in third place, have a growing injury list.
Defenders Mark Iuliano (hip) and Alessandro Birindelli (muscle strain) and midfielders Fabian O'Neill (right thigh), and Gianluca Pessotto (hamstring) are all receiving attention.
