Juve's Esnaider Joins Zaragoza on Loan
ZARAGOZA, Spain, Dec 8 (Reuters)(DS) - Juventus' Argentine striker Juan
Eduardo Esnaider has joined Real Zaragoza on loan until the end of the
season, the Spanish club said on Friday.
The deal, reportedly worth 200 million pesetas ($1.07 million), includes an
option to buy the player at the end of the season.
"I have been really happy to return to the club," said Esnaider, who spent
the 1994-95 season at Zaragoza and played an instrumental role in their
European Cup Winners' Cup victory that year. "I am keen to play, not just
for this season, but also for others to come," he told reporters.
Esnaider has been injured for much of this season and had failed to win a
regular place in Carlo Ancelotti's Serie A side. But the former Real Madrid
forward said he was not worried about recovering his goal-scoring touch.
"Scoring goals is like riding a bicycle -- it is something you never
forget," he said.
He trained with Zaragoza on Friday and will be eligible to play for the club
once the Spanish transfer market officially reopens on December 15.
Zaragoza are 16th in the 20-team Spanish first division, five points clear
of bottom club Osasuna with a game in hand.
