Juventus Fans Clash With Police
MILAN, Dec 3 (Reuters)(DS) - Juventus fans hurled plastic seats and flares
at police at the end of their side's 2-2 draw against Inter Milan at the San
Siro stadium on Sunday.
A group of around 20 officers were isolated on a section of terracing near
the exit from the end of the ground where some 5,000 travelling Juventus
fans watched the match.
They withstood a barrage of missiles before reinforcements arrived and
helped restore order.
Travelling fans also clashed with police during Roma's 0-0 draw at Perugia
earlier while a linesman was hit by a water bottle thrown from the crowd
during Napoli's 1-0 defeat of Bari.
Italian soccer has been plagued by sporadic violence this season.
