Conte Strike Gives Juventus Draw at AC Milan

MILAN, Oct 21 (Reuters)(DS) - A superb 90th minute strike from substitute Antonio Conte earned Juventus a 2-2 draw with AC Milan in the Italian first division on Saturday.

In the day's other game Inter Milan lost 3-0 to Udinese, their second defeat in three games this season.

Milan had led 2-0 through second-half headers from Massimo Ambrosini and Andriy Shevcehnko but Juventus coach Carlo Ancelotti saw two substitutions pay off as a 67th minute goal from David Trezeguet pulled Juve back into the game before Conte's last-gasp equaliser.

Juve had slightly the better of a scrappy first half played out against the backdrop of sporadic crowd violence between the two sets of supporters.

The best move of the half came in the 38th minute when Frenchman Zinedine Zidane fed Filippo Inzaghi but the Italy striker saw his shot well-blocked by Milan 'keeper Christian Abbiati.

Zidane then went close with a long-range chip that just cleared Abbiati's crossbar. But it was Milan who almost grabbed an opener when re-called midfielder Zvonimir Boban saw a header from a Demetrio Albertini free-kick hit the post.

Milan were on top after the break and after some intense pressure took the lead in the 59th minute when Ambrosini lost his marker to head home a Demetrio Albertini free-kick at the near post.

Two minutes later Milan were 2-0 up when Boban picked out Shevchenko who headed firmly past Edwin Van der Sar.

Juventus coach Carlo Ancelotti replaced the largely ineffectual Alessandro Del Piero with Trezeguet in the 65th minute and within two minutes the French striker had pulled Juve back into the game heading in an excellent left-wing cross from Zidane.

In the final minute of normal time Conte, also on as a substitute beat Abbiati with a 20-metre shot.

INTER
After a win against Napoli in his first game as Inter coach Marco Tardelli saw his side fall to a 3-0 defeat to Udinese.

Italy midfielder Stefano Fiore put Udinese ahead from the penalty spot in the 28th minute after Inter defender Fabio Macellari had shoved Danish midfielder Martin Joergensen.

Inter, who sacked Marcello Lippi as coach after an opening day defeat to Reggina, came close to an equaliser shortly after halftime when Uruguayan forward Alvaro Recoba shaved the post with a free-kick.

But eight minutes later striker Roberto Muzzi doubled Udinese's lead with a fierce shot wich came off Sebastien Frey's left hand post on the way in.

Inter conceded a second penalty in injury time for a foul by French midfielder Benoit Cauet on Udinese's Brazilian midfielder Alberto. Vicenza Iaquinta converted the spot-kick.
