Floods Jeopardize Juventus Trip
TURIN, Italy (October 16, 2000 2:30 p.m. EDT http://www.sportserver.com) - The floods that have ravaged northern Italy
have compromised the travel plans of Italian Serie A side Juventus, who visit
Spain's Deportivo La Coruna Wednesday in the Champions League.
Juventus press officer Alessio Secco confirmed Monday that the Turin giants
had been affected by the conditions.
Secco said that the flight from Caselle airport should not be problematic
but added: "But the problem is reaching the airport. We are optimistic and at
all costs we are hoping to leave."
Another problem could be getting all the players together in one place as
many live in the nearby hillsides that have been affected by the floods.
Using Genoa airport could represent an alternative for the Bianconeri.
