Zambrotta Joins Conte on Italy Sideline for Final

AMSTERDAM (June 29, 2000 4:28 p.m. EDT http://www.sportserver.com) - Italian Gianluca Zambrotta will miss Sunday's Euro 2000 Final with France after being sent off during the semifinal victory over Holland.
Midfielder Zambrotta was red carded after 33 minutes for a second bookable offense in the 0-0 draw which Italy went on to win 3-1 on penalties.
That will add to the problems of Italy coach Dino Zoff in midfield with his Juventus teammate Antonio Conte already ruled out.
Conte was the victim of a dreadful tackle by Romania's Gheorghe Hagi in the 2-0 quarterfinal victory for the 'Azzurri', sustaining torn ankle ligaments that make him a doubt for the start of Italy's Serie A season.
