ROME (June 25, 2000 11:11 a.m. EDT http://www.sportserver.com) - The transfer of Monaco's French international striker David Trezeguet to Serie A giant Juventus has been put on hold, according to Italian paper Gazetta dello Sport on Sunday.
The two clubs had reportedly agreed a deal in the region of $21.5 million, but Trezeguet's demands have caused the Italian club to hesitate.
Trezeguet has supposedly demanded guarantees on the team's strategic plans, which may be complicated by the abundant supply of quality strikers at the Italian runner-up.
Italians Alessandro Del Pierro, Filippo Inzaghi and Yugoslav Darko Kovacevic are already established Juve stars, and could make Trezeguet's ambition of first-team soccer a hitch in the deal.
