Van der Sar Set to Miss Match Against France

HOENDERLOO, Netherlands, June 18 (Reuters)(DS) - Dutch goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is almost certain to miss the Netherlands' final group match against France on Wednesday. The Juventus number one injured his left thigh during the 3-0 victory over Denmark on Friday. The injury came as Van der Sar fouled Danish forward Ebbe Sand 10 minutes from time, giving away a penalty in the process.

"The forecast is that he'll be out of the French match," Dutch coach Frank Rijkaard said after training on Sunday. The Dutch number two, Liverpool's Sander Westerveld, is set to start after making his Euro 2000 debut during injury time on Friday. The Dutch squad has a series of other injuries, although none of them is serious.
