Juventus Set to Snap Up Maresca From WBA
MILAN, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Italian midfielder Enzo Maresca is set to join
Serie A leaders Juventus from English first division West Bromwich Albion
(WBA), Italian media reported on Monday.
Juventus have not released details of the transfer fee but reports said the
Turin club paid around four million pounds ($6.5 million) - a record for the
cash-strapped English club.
Maresca is expected to begin training with Carlo Ancelotti's squad on
Tuesday. No one was immediately available at WBA to comment on the reports.
The 20-year-old Maresca has been impressive for WBA since arriving on a free
transfer from Cagliari 18 months ago.
Last week Maresca said he would relish a move to one of Europe's leading
clubs. "I have enjoyed my stay with West Brom, but this is a chance of a
lifetime for me," said Maresca. "Juventus are one of the few clubs I would
have considered moving to at this stage of my career, along with Manchester
United and Barcelona."
