Juventus Tell Turin of Borgaro Move
Published: January 28, 2000
Serie A leaders Juventus have confirmed plans to build their own stadium in Turin and leave the Stadio Delle Alpi.
The three top Juve executives - Luciano Moggi, Roberto Bettega and Antonio Giraudo - appeared before the city council's planning committee to say plans were being drawn up for a new all seater stadium at Borgaro in Turin.
Both Torino - who have been granted money to move from the Delle Alpi but still cannot afford to abandon the 82,000 capacity ground built for the 1990 World Cup - and Juventus want to leave the Alpi. Juventus were denied a grant to help with the move after a council vote was cast by the communist party against money to help with a new stadium's construction.
