Portuguese international Nuno Gomes scored twice and defender Daniele Adani added the winner as Fiorentina came from behind to beat Vicenza. Gomes opened the scoring after nine minutes slotting home a cross from Saliou Lassissi. Vicenza then struck twice in two minutes equalising with Luca Toni and then taking the lead with a splendid strike from defender Gianluca Comotto just before the stroke of halftime. A rejuvenated Fiorentina came back in the second half, Gomes levelling the score before Adani got the winner in the 72nd minute.

Attendance: 19,922 Defender Alessandro Conticchio opened the scoring for Lecce in this southern derby, sliding home a shot that deflected off team mate Critiano Lucarelli in the 23rd minute. Lucarelli then added a penalty in the 70th minute to secure the victory and keep Bari winless after seven games this season.

In his first match in charge, new Napoli coach Emiliano Mondonico saw his side held to goalless draw at home by his former club. Napoli midfielder Fabio Pecchia hit the post but that was as close as his club would get to tasting their first victory of the season. The result means Napoli moved out of last place while Atalanta remain the only unbeaten side in Serie A.

Argentine striker Roberto Sosa scored twice and midfielder Stefano Fiore added a penalty as Udinese won at home against Reggina. Sosa opened the scoring with a text-book header from a Fiore cross in the 23rd minute. Fiore then added a penalty to give Udinese a two goal lead before Sosa scored his second of the game, giving him 6 goals so far this season. Udinese are in second place two points behind leaders AS Roma.

Roma moved two points clear after an impressive come-from-behind win. Massimo Oddo opened the scoring with a fourth minute penalty after Roma goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli brought down forward Alberto Gilardino. Vincent Candela equalised with a strike from just outside the box before an unmarked Francesco Totti slotted home a shot on the stroke of halftime to give Roma the lead. Argentine Gabriel Batistuta scored with a beautifully taken free-kick in the 58th minute and then tapped home a low Damiano Tomassi cross just before the final whistle to give him eight goals for the season.

Italy striker Christian Vieri scored his first goal in over eight months to give Inter Milan victory in the San Siro. Uruguayan international Alvaro Recoba opened the scoring for Inter with a superb left shot after nine minutes. Perugia captain Marco Materazzi equalised with a free kick in the 29th minute. In the second half Inter coach Marco Tardelli brought on Vieri who scored the winner with a header in the 77th minute.

AC Milan: Andriy Shevchenko 54'

Attendance: 58,000

Dino Baggio opened the scoring with a beautiful shot from 30 metres after three minutes to give champions Lazio the lead in front of 60,000 at the Olympic Stadium. Andriy Shevchenko scored his seventh of the season in the 54th minute to level for Milan.
