Two second-half equalisers from Giuseppe Signori gave Bologna a draw in this clash for a place in Europe. Atalanta looked to be heading for their first home win in almost three months courtesy of goals from former Bologna striker Nicola Ventola and Domenico Morfeo but Signori struck with a dipping freekick in the 57th and a rare header in the 75th.

An astonishing match in wich Perugia scored four times in 14 minutes in the last half hour to overturn a 3-0 deficit and keep their European hopes alive. South Korean midfielder Ahn Jung-hwan started the fightback in the 67th minute and substitute Anselmo Robbiati then scored twice before Marco Matterazzi hit the fourth with an 82nd minute penalty. Bari's misery was compounded by the dismissal of Danish defender Michael Madsen in the 80th minute.

Roberto Baggio scored for the fifth consecutive match to condemn his old club Inter to a defeat which dents their chances of claiming Italy's fourth Champions League berth. Baggio sent the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot in the 12th minute to ensure Brescia continue their march away from the drop zone.

Enrico Chiesa scored twice in five minutes early in the second half to take his league tally for the season to 19 and turn defeat into victory for Fiorentina. His first came after a one-two with Marco Rossi and his second from a superb freekick. Udinese have taken just one point from 18 on the road.

Filippo Inzaghi missed an 86th-minute penalty and then hit the woodwork in the fifth minute of injury time as Juve, who had 10 corner kicks to none for their opponents, tried everything to beat Lecce and keep the pressure on AS Roma. Ukraine's Andriy Shevchenko converted a controversial 69th minute penalty to give lacklustre Milan all three points. The spotkick was awarded to Shevchenko's striking partner Oliver Bierhoff, who went down in the box after rounding keeper Fabrizio Ferron. Television replays suggested Bierhoff was clipped by the keeper but made a meal of the challenge.

Argentine Lucas Castroman scored in the fifth minute of injury time to give Lazio a dramatic derby draw which dampens Roma's title expectations. Roma led 2-0 thanks to strikes from Gabriel Batistuta and Marco Delvecchio. But Pavel Nedved pulled one back for the champions in the 78th minute before Castroman, a late substitute, blasted a bullet shot into the bottom corner of the Roma net.
