First Half
The 3-0 result in favour of Juventus reflects the Bianconeri�s performance eloquently. Birindelli behaves well in defence. Edgar Davids is among the best players on the pitch, as well as winning innumerable balls and playing with his renowned grit, on the 28th minute he manages a piece of work which is answered with a round of applause from the stands. As well as the prodigious pass for Inzaghi, Davids also saves a goal when he intercepts Shevchenko who is bearing down on the goal with only Van der Saar standing between himself and the equaliser. Del Piero did an excellent job setting up play for his team mates. First Half
Inside cross by Del Piero on the 9th minute, Tudor headers the ball straight into the net. Just 3 minutes later Milan make a comeback with Helveg who shoots at goal but Van der Saar is not caught unawares and blocks the shot with ease. Once again Milan are in attack; Leonardo crosses for Coco who sails the ball above the crossbar.
On the 19th minute Milan earn themselves a penalty kick, but Albertini�s shot is too central and the Bianconero keeper saves it with ease. Two minutes later Giunti crosses for Shevchenko who headers sending the ball high.
Tacchinardi aims at the goal but his shot skims the post. In the 28th minute Davids manages to free himself and crosses in for Inzaghi who traps the ball but ends up shooting high. Two minutes later on a cross from Shevchenko Leonardo sends a diving header at the Bianconeri goal which Van der Saar miraculously manages to block.
On the 36th minute Del Piero takes a penalty kick, Inzaghi stops his pass but shoots out. Three minutes later Milan reacts with an exceptional Shevchenko, who works his way through the Bianconeri defence. Davids understands everything and rushes back from midfield to beat Shevchenko to the ball and send it into a corner.
Second Half
The Bianconeri pick where they left off. In the 2nd minute of the second half Davids frees himself from Kaldze, who is not leaving him any room, and takes a powerful but imprecise shot at goal. Juve play well in all areas of the pitch including the defence which tightens the spaces and does not let the Rossoneri through. Del Piero, in great form, is on every ball and untiringly sets up play
However in the 15th minute Inzaghi passes to Del Piero who sends the ball wide. Juve keep dominating play and while Davids is off field following a foul by Helveg, Tacchinardi moves forward passes back and forth to Inzaghi finally giving him a perfect ball which Pippo slams into the back of the net, bringing the score to 2-0.
Davids rejoins the fray and Zaccheroni takes Helveg and Kaladze off and substitutes them with Guly and Gattuso. Ferrara receives a warning that will stop him from playing against Udinese.
On the 23rd minute a header by Del Piero goes just over crossbar. Nine minutes later Tacchinardi shoots at goal but Abbiati is ready and saves the shot.
Milan reacts with Shevchenko, who on the 36th minute headers a ball that finishes by going just over the crossbar. Three minutes later Zidane takes a penalty kick and sends the ball high. The final thrill comes on overtime, when Kovacevic�s pass works perfectly for Zidane. The French midfielder taps the ball above Abbiati and sends it rotating in an arc which finishes in the far side of the goal and brings the final score to 3-0.
