A-ko: I wonder, I wonder... Do you know what I wonder?
B-ko: I hear there's going to be another duel out back in the forest today!
A-ko: It's been quite a while since this phrase was last used.
A-ko: Of course, it's better done by two people...
B-ko: ...than by one!
A-ko: Half the suffering,
A-ko&B-ko: ...double the happiness!
A-ko: Hey, wait! You used my shampoo without permission last night!
B-ko: And you, you went and finished off the pudding I was eating.
B-ko: ...though it was from two weeks ago.
A-ko: Are you serious?
B-ko: But now, brave warrior,
A-ko: I wonder if you really know...
B-ko: ...the difficulty in getting along together.
A-ko: I wonder, I wonder...
A-ko&B-ko: Do you know what I wonder?
A-ko: Ugh... Here it comes.
This play is another example of the Shadow Girls talking about both themselves and the
duelists, which I find to be quite cute.
Before the Apocalypse Arc duels, Utena would always draw the Sword of Dios from Anthy.
The Sword of Dios was always all Anthy's work. But now that the Sword of Dios no longer
appears, Utena and Anthy have to work together to draw out the sword of Utena's spirit.
This is also true for the other duelists and their brides.
Though working together does produce a better result with less work on the part of each,
it's also difficult to work together! Whereas in the Student Council arc, only the duelists
themselves had to get involved, in the Apocalypse arc, the brides must be manipulated/do
the manipulating as well. This often causes tension between the bride and the duelist,
before or after the duel.
Working with two may be more difficult is some ways, but it sure makes the story more
interesting!
