“The Wild Ones”

697 Squadron - the
'Pathfinders' who fly ahead of bombing missions to mark targets with
flares - under Wing Commander MacPherson and Doc Saxon, are joined by four
'wild' new recruits: Pilot officer Buzz Maltby, navigator Sgt. Taff Evans,
bomb-aimer Sgt. Steel and tail gunner Gloomy Gale. Their mission is find a
new German super-gun which can fire shells over the channel...

Thomas Drew - nick name the 'Kat' - is the best tail gunner in 697
Squadron but also something of a oddball. MacPherson grounds him for
'mental conditions' but Doc Saxon recognises the man's keen eyesight and
skill, and countermands the order so he can fly dangerous missions to spot
a German tank-producing plant in Zalhofen...

Menace of the 'Granitz'!”

Crippled by enemy fire
after a successful flare drop, the Lancaster carrying MacPherson, Saxon
and tail gunner Billing wanders off course and spots the German pocket
battleship 'Granitz' blasting an allied convoy. It is up to the
Pathfinders to mark the 'Granitz' for a massive offensive before it
destroys more allied ships...

Ghost Bi-plane”

Sergeant Johnny Walker is
a tail gunner for 697 Squadron, and a veteran from World War I. When a
sneak German bandit attacks his Lancaster, Walker is surprised to see an
old World War I bi-plane fight it off. But when it turns out he is the
only one to report it, his airworthiness comes into question...
