Stewpot had been gone a long while before this
feature started, but still there were remnants of the old newsdesk still
lurking about. Basically this was another incarnation of the reader
participation slot, always popular throughout the years and this feature
had it's fair share of input from readers. The feature varied and
did not always have every item involved every week, and would vary between
1 or 2 pages in length.
Readers were invited to submit a whole host
of things over the years, but fondly remembered are:
Star Drawing
A drawing of the readers favourite star was submitted, like the one of
Adam Ant on the page banner (Top Left).
Look Alike
A leftover from 'Newsdesk', with readers suggesting to stars who look
like each other (See Left).
Game for a Laugh
A feature derived from the top programme of the same name, readers
would send photo's of family members/mates, to be put into an embarrassing
position, via a drawing made around it (see left)
Happy Birthday
A list of people celebrating their birthdays that week, interlaced
with pictures of stars who also had their special day that week.
Hobbies
Pictures of readers collections, or involvement in their hobby.
Pets
Photo's and stories about readers pets.
Here you are lasted for a while after
Stewpot's newsdesk, and was an important part of Look-in in making readers
feel special, and included in the magazine. Look-in would take this
one step further in it's replacement 'Look-in Club'.
