1971's 'Countdown' comic had a strip drawn by Look-in's John M. Burns.  Called 'Countdown', it told the story of a space ship called strangely enough 'Countdown', which goes on a 50-year mission into deep space, to gather as much information
about the cosmos as is possible.  The artistic style is very reminiscent of 'The Tomorrow People', the ships are based on those seen in '2001: A Space Odyssey', and the spherical style section, was used a couple of times in TP strips.
