My Rating:

Johnny- Barbara's annoying older brother. He rescues Barbara from a zombie and ends up falling head first onto a gravestone. OUCH! Turns into a zombie and ends up munching on part of his sister at the movie's end.

Barbara- For most of the movie she's in shock and just sits around in a daze. Munched by zombies.

Ben- A take charge kind of guy, who... well... takes charge of everything. He is mistaken for a zombie and receives a bullet to the skull.

Tom and Judy- Two young people in love in the worst situation possible. Both are too dumb to leap out of a flaming pickup truck and end up as well done zombie fodder.

Harry, Helen, and Sarah Cooper- Harry gets shot and dies in the basement. Helen is stabbed to death with a spade by her zombified daughter. Ben shoots them all in the head.

Army of Hicks- They all seek out and destroy the zombies.

The Zombies- The recently deceased are coming back to life due to the explosion of an irradiated satellite that was returning from Venus. The newly reanimated corpses shamble about the Pennsylvania countryside in search of human flesh. To kill them, one must shoot or give them a sharp blow to the head.

"Night of the Living Dead" was recently ranked as the SECOND BEST movie ever, that takes place in Pennsylvania! The movie opens with Johnny and Barbara visiting their father's grave. As they finish putting flowers on the grave, Johnny starts joking around to frighten his sister. Johnny sees a man shambling among the graves and says, "They're coming for you Barbara. Here comes one now." It turns out that Johnny was right because the guy he was making fun of turns out to be a zombie. The zombie attacks Barbara and Johnny comes to the rescue, only to get his head smashed off a gravestone. Barbara then escapes in her brother's car, by taking off the parking brakes. She coasts away and crashes, then gets out and runs to a nearby farmhouse.
As night falls, a truck suddenly pulls up to the house. Ben hops hot and runs inside, completely secures the interior of the house, and begins to board things up. Later on, it's discovered that Tom, Judy, and the Coopers have been hiding out in the basement during this while zombie onslaught. Immediately Ben makes sure everyone knows that he's in charge. So the group formulates a plan to drive out to the nearby gas pump, fill the truck up, and escape. Ben along with Tom and Judy, rushes outside and takes the truck to the pump. The key they have doesn't fit the lock so Tom stupidly shoots off the lock. Soon flames begin to engulf the truck as Tom and Judy start to drive away. The truck explodes, and the zombies get a home cooked meal (mmmmmmm....deep fried morons). Ben makes his way back to the house and nearly dies because Harry boarded up the door. Once inside, Ben punches Harry in the face.
There is a brief scuffle over the rilfe then, and Harry gets shot. He goes down to the cellar and dies. Moments later, the zombies begin to break through the front door and windows. Barbara tries to hold the front door but can't. As the door swings open, her zombified brother appears and drags her outside, where she gets munched. Ben runs downstairs and finds a gruesome discovery. Harry and Helen are dead and were partially eaten by their daughter. So Ben blows away Sarah, but then her parents slowly begin to come back to life prompting Ben to put a bullet in each of their heads. Ben holds out in the basement until morning, when an army of hicks arrives to clean out the zombie threat. Ben goes upstairs in the house and is seen by the hicks. They mistake him for a zombie, and shoot him in the head (from quite a distance I might add), thus providing us with a tragically ironic ending to one of the greatest horror films of all time.

Johnny: "They're coming to get you Barbara."

Ben: "Now get the hell down in the cellar. You can be the boss down there. I'm boss up here!"

Helen: "We may not enjoy living together but dying together won't solve anything."
