Long Way Home by SPEED

It's not long after their 2nd world tour, SPEED announced today that the group will disband on March 31, 2000.
Hiro: The 1st time that the four of us talked about breaking up was around the time we had our 1998 concert. Back then, we were so busy practicing to sing, dance and learn tricks. We had a really tough time, so the topic of "break up" came into our discussions. We talked about going our separate ways, and that maybe it's time to end SPEED.
Imai: It was really hard for us to break this news to our fans. We felt really bad for those that had supported us for so long.
The reason behind the breakup is mainly due to the four different personalities behind the group SPEED. The four girls are very different. The fans only see the personality that of SPEED, but not the individual members. SPEED represents one personality and the members realized that they couldn't truly express themselves when they are in a group.
Mako: The four of us are very different. We have different dreams and goals. By breaking up SPEED, we can each fulfil our own goals.
When a girl grows up, she can no longer fit into her baby clothes. No matter how much she loves those clothes, she would only break them if she tries to wear them. After a long consideration, SPEED decides to break up. In their new album "Long Way Home", SPEED expresses their emotions about the break up.
Hiro: The second part of the lyrics was written after we decided to break up. Every word, expresses how we felt at the time. Whenever I sing it, I felt like I am going to cry.

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

Re-evaluate my self before I slowly decide what I'm going to do
Hiro: I haven't yet decided what I'll be doing in the future. Maybe I'll continue with my singing career. But, for now, I just want to put that all aside.

Continue my career as an entertainer
Imai:I want to continue my singing career and keep on releasing CDs. I've already finished recording a solo album. I think I'll make it by myself.

Going to America to realize my dream
Mako: I always dream of going to America to learn Arts especially painting and dancing. I'll also learn English, and hopefully, I'll be able to carry on a conversation with other people.

Design and clothing related career
Takako: I've been busy for such a long time, so I want to relax before I move on to my next career. I hope my next job won't be so busy. I want to try writing lyrics and doing other kinds of job excluding singing, like being a model in magazines and fashion shows. I also want to go to Paris to see their fashion show and musicals.
