| Oh Hi Felia. Shes upstairs listening to music. Go right up. Thank you Mrs. Zimbo. Felia replied and went up into one of the upstairs bedrooms. Inside she found Chetina, her best friend, dancing in the middle of the floor. Chetina had just got home from work and was still in her restaurant uniform. HI Felia. Whats up? Nothing just came over to see what you were up to. Just got home from work, thats all. Im exhausted. The cheetah fur replied panting. Well if you tired why are you dancing? Felia asked bewildered. I had a long day at work. Dancing helps me relax after a stressful day. Thats weird. It doesnt look very relaxing. Oh come on Felia this is great. Besides how do you relax after a hard day? The lioness didnt reply to her friends question. Instead a mischievous grin came over her face. ************************************************************************************ But Mayor the ancient text tells of a great disaster if we dont ENOUGH! I will not allow any of my people to do that because of some ancient superstition. Thomas stepped forward in a final attempt to persuade the mayor, Your honor with all due respect these books did tell of the massacre at Sky park. It said that if the sacred mud springs were ever desecrated that a monster would come and What happened last year was a horrible accident. However the existence of macros is well documented and their territorial protectiveness known. But now that we are aware that a macro has claimed that land we will leave it alone. But Mayor what if that macro comes back? Thomas pleaded. Mr. Hilda, macros consider our people to be little more than pests. They wont bother with us unless we are in their territory or bothering them. And that is a proven fact. Now Im not about to approve any of the citizens of this city committing mass suicide to satisfy some out of date legend. Very well Mayor. Then Im afraid you may have just signed all of our death warrants. After the mayor let him out Thomas headed straight for the conference hall. All of his followers would be waiting there. Even if the mayor wouldnt approve of the ceremony he would go ahead with it anyway. His followers were ready to take the steps necessary to keep their city safe. ************************************************************************************ Oh come on Felia how much farther is it. My paws are killing me! Chetina whined. Just over this hill. Felia replied confidently. As the two macro ladies approached the familiar path to the mud springs, Felia smiled. She pointed to the large rocks near the entrance and Chetina sat down. Then both girls pulled their hiking boots off and let out a sign of relief. Normally furs dont wear footwear of any type but the treacherous terrain that led to the springs demanded protection. Felia was used to the boots but unfortunately Chetina was not. As the two girls walked down to the park Felia told Chetina the story of her run in with the little people. Although Chetina didnt like the idea of stepping on bugs she was open minded. The young cheetah would try anything once. Unfortunately once they reached the park all that was left was an open field. No little people to be found. But how could that be? There were thousands of the little pests here last time? After a quick search of the area Felia decided to look for their main nest. She didnt like to give up easily and they had to be somewhere. Thats when she heard something ************************************************************************************ Are you sure we need to chant this loud? I mean someone might hear us. Dont worry Tony. Thomas replied reassuringly, Were 20 miles out of the city limits. Besides we want the gods to hear us. But what about these silly cloths? Tony these are the traditional garments used by our people 200 years ago. Since that was the last time this ceremony was necessary it only seemed prudent to use them again. Youre right Thomas. Forgive me for being unfaithful Tony its alright. Were all feel a little silly doing this. But if the writings were right about first attack then they could be right about this one too. Now go back and join the rest of your brothers and sisters in the feast. Tony smiled and walked back to the crowd of followers. In his heart Thomas hoped that the ancient books were wrong. If they were right his followers were about to die. Although they all were told that before joining it was still hard to accept. However if the stories were true at least the city would be sa. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM ************************************************************************************ Felia smiled as the little people came into sight. Once they spotted her they all looked up in awe. Chetina looked over to her bewildered. You say stepping on these things feels good? Yeah it does. Like nothing else I ever felt. Felia replied Alright. Let me borrow your new radio. Ive got an idea. ************************************************************************************ Thomas looked around at his followers as the giants appeared. He could see the fear in the peoples eyes but this had to be done. The text said that 50 willing souls must sacrifice themselves in order for the city to be saved. It also said that a place in the afterlife would be reserved for those who did. A moment later the first of the creatures stepped into their midsts, crushing several of his followers in the process. Then the other stepped into the fenced-in field and the slaughter started. The first macro started to stomp on his followers mercilessly. The cheetah fur trampled his people systematically and brutally. It looked like some sort of satanic dance. Behind the cheetah macro was a lion fur. This one seemed to be herding the crowd into the plummeting feet of the first fur. Both of the giant cats had callous smiles on their faces and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Despite the months of preparation Thomas found himself overwhelmed by the horror of what was going on. His people were being pounded into the ground like ants on a sidewalk. Although some bravely accepted their fate most try to run. ************************************************************************************ Felia purred loudly as the warm blood and popping bodies massaged her paws. She had decided to let Chetina do most of the stomping while she took care of any that tried to get away. Tending to the leftovers wasnt as much fun but this trip was for Chetina. The lioness looked over to her friend as she danced on the bugs. Chetina seemed to be letting out all of her tensions on the playthings below. As Chetina brutally smashed their bodies flat, Felia almost felt sorry for them. However pity appeared to be the last thing on Chetinas mind. Unfortunately the cheetahs careless dance was leaving several bugs only partially flattened. Most of the survivors seemed to still be alive but in a lot of pain. Felia decided not to let those left behind suffer. So she worked her way through the field finishing off any crippled bugs. ************************************************************************************ Thomas had somehow managed to survive so far. Although he felt guilty for not being killed immediately perhaps he was meant to survive to tell the story Suddenly Thomas fell to the ground and felt his legs explode. As the overwhelming wave of pain shot up his body he caught a glimpse a massive foot lifting off of him. For the next few moments he twitched in agony while reaching for the smashed limbs. Then a dark shadow came overhead. Thomas looked up just in time to see a massive brown foot descend on him ************************************************************************************ Felia gave her foot a twist and the little body crunched under her pads. With a satisfied purr she looked around for anymore suffering bugs. However by that point nothing was left alive in the field. Carefully Felia stepped over the fence. Just over the next hill was Chetina. The cheetah had laid down in an open field. She was purring loudly and curling her toes. Although the smile on her face said everything, Felia asked anyway. How did you like it? That was incredible. The warmth, the popping The Cheetah purred. I told ya! Felia announced proudly. The cheetah sat up and looked down at her feet, It was kinda gross though. I mean its going to take forever to get all of this blood out. Well I dont think the bugs liked it. Felia replied sarcastically. Both girls giggled and got up. They walked towards the entrance where the springs were. It was the perfect place to clean up before going home. Within an hour they were on their way. The afternoon spent hunting was slowly becoming a pleasant memory. During the long walk home the conversation quickly transitioned from bugs to boys. After all teenage girls had more important things to talk about then squishing bugs. This story was inspired by the Tribal execution dance drawing by inuyasha192, used with permission. |
