Chapter 5: Telling the folks
As instructed, Theodore followed the hidden path out until he hit Highway 97.  Sure enough, there was a large luxury sedan waiting there.  Its owner had promised a ride home after she was done returning to normal size.

After a short wait a familiar figure emerged from the tree line.  She was smaller than before, yet still had an aura of supremacy.  Perhaps it was a side effect of their introduction.

I see you found the car.

It was right were you said it would be.  Theodore replied and he looked her over.  There was one thing for certain, Melanie was quite a beautiful lady.  Her normal size was about 58.  She had light brown fur, with white highlights, and the face of a supermodel.  Beauty and power what an amazing combination.

What did you do with your macro clothing?  The young wolf asked curiously.

Well thats a little difficult to explain but Ill show you one of these days.  The wolf replied as she climbed into the car, Now lets get out of here.  I am looking forward to meeting your folks.

As Theodore climbed into the sedan he asked, Do we need to tell them about my macroism?

What you tell them is up to you.  Just keep in mind that sometimes these things have a way of getting out.

You think those punks I scared will talk?  Theodore replied in a concerned tone.

Probably not.  But I wouldnt try to keep this a secret from them for too long.  That kind of thing can backfire.

Youre right.  The young wolf replied reluctantly,  Lets tell them today.

Theodore took a moment to digest his decision.  Melanie was right, he shouldnt try to keep this a secret forever.  And hed much rather they learn about this from him than...

The young wolfs train of thought was interrupted by the sound of familiar rock music.  It kicked on when Melanie started the car and she seemed to like it loud.

You listen to SLEDGEHAMMER?  The wolf hollered.

Yeah these guys are great.  Melanie replied with a grin, Wait a second, just how OLD do you think I am?

Although young and inexperienced, Theodore knew there were certain questions that should never be answered honestly.  This was definitely one of them.

Ah  16?

Melanie smiled and replied, Looks like your mother taught you well.  Im 18 and very much into SLEDGEHAMMER.  Now lets go meet your folks.

As the large luxury sedan pulled into his driveway, Theodore had just one question for his new mentor.  How do we do this?

Melanie smiled and replied, There is only one way your folks are going to believe that their son is a giant, were going to have to show them.

That thought made Theodore more nervous than anything else.  A hundred different doubts flooded his mind;  What if he couldnt control himself?  What if there was an accident?  What if they didnt approv

Dont worry.  Melanie interrupted as if she could hear his thoughts, Youll do fine.

But Melanie  Theodore interjected, What if I

You wont.  She replied confidently, These people are your family.  The same instinct that led you to me will not allow you to intentionally harm them.  Just be careful and dont try to pick them up, OK.

I understand.

Good.  Now go to the backyard and concentrate on growing.  I think youll find size shifting is not really difficult.  Ill go and bring your folks out in a couple of minutes.

With that, Theodore climbed out of the car and watched Melanie head towards the front door.  He still had his doubts but trusted her nonetheless.  After his new mentor knocked, the young wolf scurried to the back.

Thankfully his folks choose a semi-secluded part of town to live in.  There were no other homes for a half a mile and they owned several acres of land surrounding the house.  And not far from the back porch was the forest he had come to enjoy.

Well the first order of business was to get ready to grow.  So Theodore quickly shed his clothing and carefully placed it in a pile next to the back stairs.  Although naked now, his fur fortunately covered the private areas.

Now that he was ready, the fur walked a safe distance from the house and closed his eyes.  An eerily familiar sensation filled Theodores body as he concentrated.  The ground below began to fill softer, almost like wet sand.  He seemed to be sinking a little as the ground buckled but nothing to worry

Then an unexpected sense of disorientation overtook him and Theodore stepped back to get his balance.  As his foot pressed into the ground a soft pop could be felt.  If he didnt know better the fur would have sworn he just stepped on a bug.  Yet a tight sinking sensation filled his stomach warning of the unthinkable.

Theodore quickly opened his eyes and found that he grown as expected.  Slowly he lifted his foot off the ground and looked into the crater it left.  Inside was the flattened body of one of the areas indigenous foxes.

The wolf let out a sigh of relief as a voice screamed from behind rang out, Oh my god

Theodore turned around to find his mother had just fainted and was being held by his dad.   The proud man looked up at him with a smile and announced, Well looks like my boy is growing up faster than expected!

Over the next few hours Melanie and Theodore talked about their macro powers with the folks.  Despite his mothers initial reaction, both of his parents proved to be very supportive.  Their reaction was predictable yet still refreshing.  Then again, dad wasnt too happy about the new craters in the backyard.

Melanie proved to be a very knowledgeable mediator.  She was more than willing to describe her personal experiences as a giant and how she learned to cope with them.  The wolf also touched base on how their people take care of new macros like him.  Her quick and reassuring answers seemed to set Theodores parents at ease.

However there were many aspects of macrophillia that Melanie didnt touch on.  Aspects that Theodore felt he was soon going to learn about.  Aspects that his parents really didnt need to know.

After everything was said that had to be said, Melanie and his folks settled on an arrangement to help him.  Melanie would teach Theodore how to be a macro and his folks would take care of everything else.  It was an agreement that everyone found to be best.

As the content group broke up and Theodores parents walked their guest back to the car, the young wolf went back outside.  A morbid curiosity took him to the backyard and the gargantuan footprints.  This time the wolf found himself inspecting the remains of a small animal in his wake.

The foxs trampled body gave him a cruel sense of preeminence.  It was the size of a large dog yet crushed like a snail below his powerful footpaw.  Every part of its little body was completely devastated, pressed flat under tons of unyielding weight.

Grabbing a shovel from the tool shed in the back, the young fur decided to give his first victim a proper burial.  Carefully he dug into the ground and threw the dirt into the crater.  Once he was finished, Theodore took a break and thought of the accident a little more.  It was sad that the innocent creature just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Yet there was the unsettling fact that he actually enjoyed killing animal, even if by accident.  And the way it felt compressing underneath his foot was, intoxicating.  However the young wolf took some relief in the fact that the fox probably never knew what hit it.  That made him feel less like a monste

Theodore  His mother called abruptly, Time for supper.

Very little about the days events was discussed over dinner.  Although it would take everyone time to adjust to the developments, Theodore knew his parents would manage.  He still didnt know what he had done to deserve such loving people in his life.  But the most important thing was they didnt fear him.  That meant a lot to the young fur.

At bedtime Theodore was treated to comforting paw massage.  His loving mother could tell he was really stressed out over the days events.  Amazingly she was willing to put his comfort before her own, seeing as she was still in shock also.  Nonetheless mom was always willing to do that for him, something she said was all part of the job.

As the young wolf drifted off to sleep, now completely relaxed, the days events seemed to flow by.  Soon he found himself dreaming and
