MICHAEL MORAN

AUTHOR AND TRAVEL WRITER (UK)

Michael completed his schooling at Joeys in 1967 or 68 (can't remember which...).

After graduating from the University of New South Wales (English and Philosophy) he worked on Norfolk Island as the Broadcasting Officer for the Norfolk Island Administration to set up the radio station.

In 1974 he moved to London in the UK and has lived there ever since (but has often travelled to Sydney & visited the old school a couple of times).

In London he studied the piano and harpsichord professionally and also became an English language teacher, finally working as an EFL consultant setting up language programmes and schools worldwide for a Swiss Educational Foundation.

MichaeI took early retirement a few years ago to concentrate on his writing.

He achieved some success with an historical novel set on Norfolk Island called Point Venus, published in Sydney in 1998.

More recently (March 3, 2003) HarperCollins UK published his Beyond the Coral Sea; Travels in the Old Empires of the South-West Pacific. It was released in Australia by HarperCollins on May 28th 2003.

More information regarding Michael is available on his website (see below).
