We have lived in Phoenix
since January 1986, and 14 years in the same house! Eight
years ago this past January, Curt embarked on a mid-life career
change as an Airline Pilot. He flies a Canadair Regional Jet
for Mesa Airlines and loves his job.
Our world was rocked
in November 1998 when God blessed us with our first daughter,
Lauren Marie. We were doubly blessed in July of 2001 by the
birth of her little sister, Grace Katherine (Gracie). I absolutely
love being a Mom, and these two girls are the joy of our lives!
Lauren loves to play dress-up, play with her babies, sing
and dance! Gracie just wants to keep up - if Lauren is doing
something, Gracie wants in on it! They are independent little
ladies, and will keep us running (and hopefully young!) for
a long time! My husband is fond of saying, "They may have
my eyes, but they have their mother's mouth!" What do you
suppose he means?? (ha!)
I started working for
Iridium North America (satellite telecommunications) in July
1997, and was fortunate to be able to work part-time after
Lauren was born. I also had a 4 1/2 month 'gig' as a stay-at-home
mom (my true calling!) from August to mid-December in 2000,
after Iridium declared bankruptcy. I did go back to work at
Iridium when new owners bought the company out of bankruptcy,
to help my boss get the business back up and running. I planned
to stay home after Gracie was born, and actually gave my notice
while on maternity leave, but with the uncertainty of the
impact of Sept. 11th on the airline industry, I went back
to work on Sept. 27th of 2001. They were unable to accommodate
my request for part-time work, so I have been working full-time
since then. Our plan is for me to be home with the girls,
hopefully in the next few months. I am really looking forward
to it!
Pre-children we did a
lot of sailing, snow skiing and traveling, and two of our
favorite places are San Diego, California and Telluride, Colorado.
These days, however, we really just enjoy raising our girls,
and introducing them to new activities as ages permit. They
went on their first sailing trip last August, and we hope
to take them snow skiing next season. I am so thankful to
Kelly and Jodi for putting this web site together, and providing
us a forum for reconnecting. I really look forward to our
paths crossing again. I hope you will call or email if you
are ever in Phoenix!
God bless -
Christine
