Main Activity or Activities:
The class will discuss ways they feel they might find the
answers to their questions. After discussion the teacher may want to spend a couple
of days teaching the children how to research a topic. One day might be spent in
the library looking at books and discussing how to use them. Another day might be
spent learning how to use the internet. Finally another day might be spent talking
about direct and indirect sources.
Questions to Ask: Who wrote this
and what makes them an expert?
Are there
any other sources that back this statement up?
Closing: The students
will discuss what they found out and whether their predictions were correct. They
will also recall where information can be found, and how important it is to question
the accuracy of what they found.
5. Materials: Access to library and computers
and chart paper.
6. Evaluation: The students will be evaluated through discussion
and research process.
