This outfit suits Danse best, so the eBay seller displayed the fashion on her.  The poloroid however, shows the fashion on a Jem doll.  The bodysuit is a bright pink lycra with silver lame straps, sheer pink ruffle sleeves, with silver dots.  The skirt is a sheer pink with silver dots, and silver lame waistband. The tights are silver.

BALLET OUTFIT # 2

This prototype outfit was posted on eBay in June 2007. It was a pleasant surprise for collectors, as most people thought the outfit on the left was the only one that existed. When multiple prototypes of the same fashion appear, it is interesting to note the differences, and progression of the design.

This fashion has 5 pieces.

The bodysuit is also lycra, with a velcro closure. The gold lame is hand sewn onto the shoulders, with pink puffy sleeves. The gold dots on the puffy sleeves are also hand-painted.

The main differences between this fashion, and the one on the left are the hairbow, and slip. The slip is solid pink lycra with a velcro closure. The hairbow was described as hand-sewn, and made of two layers. The tights are a glittery gold. The tights for the other prototype are silver.

Lastly, the skirt's flower is hand cut, then, sewn on by hand.

ON STAGE PINK-TURQUOISE DRESS

or

ROCK N CURL JEM PROTOTYPE DRESS?

According to the eBay winner, this prototype "was definately up for Rock N Curl proto consideration. Hasbro didn't think the fashion proto was 'frilly enough. So, they went with the purple RNC dress that we've come to know.  Their decision was mostly based on the pink hanging bows on the shoulder and dress. They thought the pink bows made the dress flow."

"However, Hasbro and the design department still loved this design, that even though it didn't get chosen for the
Rock N Curl Jem dress, they still wanted to use it.  By the time the RNC Jem dress was chosen, the 1987 'On Stage Fashion' line was also set in stone, therefore this dress couldn't be considered for the 1987 'OSF' line. So, they put it in with the other
designs for consideration for the 1988
'OSF' line."
"

According to the eBay seller, this fashion was meant for the 1988 fashion line but was never manufactured, and may be one of a kind. The back of the Polaroid reads "On Stage Fashion designed Sept. 1986."  The dress is shiny pink knit with square dots. The skirt and shoulder deco are a blue/green shiny lame and the ruffle is a silver fishnet.  The tights are an iridescent stretch knit.

The prototype number is: 610171-03M.

ON STAGE DRESS

This fashion is one of the most interesting prototypes because of its resemblance to the Smashin' Fashion, "Designing Woman"  which is part of the Misfits line.  Many Jem collectors believe that this dress was originally an On Stage Fashion which was moved over to the Smashin' Fashions line. Although, the ID tags, and dress pattern both describe it as an On Stage Fashion, which is for the Jem and the Holograms line.
I guess it is up to interpretation.

The eBay winner of this fashion, however, says the two are, "seriously nothing alike when you really look at them.  [They have] different materials all together, different pattern, stitching length, ruffle placement and materials."

The eBay seller described the dress as having satin moiré, taffeta ruffles, and bright pink knit tights.  It also came with a bright pink hairpiece.
The prototype number is:  610073-01M.  The date on the poloroid says 10-7-86.

PAISLEY SWEATSUIT

This On Stage prototype is shown in two colors.  They may look the same upon first glance, but there are very apparent differences between the two. You can clearly see that the second version's revisions made the fashion more cost-effective, although this fashion was never mass produced.

The original version is purple or dark magenta; the second version, shown on the right is pink which reflects the Jem fashion line much better.  The original one has the paisley pattern woven into the fabric. The second version has the paisley pattern painted onto the fabric.

The original also has green trim sewed onto the edge of the cowl-neck collar, which is missing on the revised version. Lastly, the bottom of the top for the original has a stretchy, knit, trim, which is also not on the revised version.

Each version was also sold by different eBay sellers.

The top has a long cowl-neck like collar. The paisley design on the top was hand-painted and has some minor cracking in places.  The top and collar each have a velcro snap while the pants and the bottom of the top have an elastic band.
