We decided to start a homepage to let you share in our knowledge. We are Rob Mayer and Nechamah Mayer-Hirsch
Rob was born in 1942 in Arnhem, Holland and lived there for 45 years. He married there and got two children, a son (30) and a daughter (28). The children left home and Holland. Rob's great interest is genealogy and the history of the jews of Arnhem. Because he still has a job, his wife Nechamah took over the research in the archive of Arnhem. In his freetime you can find him in the jewish graveyards of Arnhem and Amersfoort to do research on the Hebrew inscriptions on the old stones and to make an index of the people who are burried there.
Nechamah was born in 1941 in Amsterdam and grew up in Nijkerk (near Amersfoort, Holland) and later Enschede. She moved to Arnhem where she met Rob. Her job was analist in the University of Agriculture in Wageningen.
She started writing stories and poetry at a very young age and went on with this till nowadays. She published several books and articles about jewish subjects. Now she decided to let you share in her interests.
