Harvey Simpson Adkins

   Harvey Simpson Adkins died September 14, 1997 at his home in Willow Springs, MO at the age of 92.  Born January 12, 1905 in Bunker, MO to Owen Adkins and Mary (Pruett) Adkins, he married Opal Mae Nichols in West Plains, MO on April 17, 1943.
   Harvey served in the Armed Forces.  He and Opal were lifelong residents of the Willow Springs area.  Harvey worked in timber for many years before his retirement.
   He made a commitment tot he Lord in the early 60s and remained faithful to his Lord and his Church.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers and six sisters.
   Harvey is survived by his son, Donald Adkins of Prineville, OR; three daughters, Phyllis Adkins, Willow Springs, Georgia Lynch of Houston, MO, and Audrey Aldridge, Tyrone, MO; one adopted son, Rocky Adkins, Warsaw, MO; one sister, Sarah Green of Willow Springs; 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
   Reverend Ira Daughtery and Marvin Cravins officiated at the funeral services held in the First Baptist Church on September 17, 1997; burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Opal Mae Adkins

  Funeral services for Opal Mae Adkins, 83, Willow Springs, were at 2:00 o.m. Tuesday, November 1, 1994, at First Baptist Church in Willow Springs with Ira Daugherty officiating.
  Mrs. Adkins died at 11:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 1994, at her home.  She was born October 4, 1911, at Willow Springs, the daughter of Charley R. and Margaret A. Moore Beasley.
  On April 17, 1943, she was married at West Plains, Mo., to Harvey Simpson Adkins.
  Survivors include her husband, Harvey Adkins, Willow Springs; four children, Donald Adkins, Prineville, Or, Georgia Lynch, Houston, MO, Audrey Aldridge, Tyrone, MO, and Phyllis Brower, Willow Springs; two brother, Leo Bealsey, Garden City, MO, and Ernest "Peck" Beasley, Willow Springs; one sister, Doreen Kinnaird, Kansas City, KS; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by her parents.
  Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

MATTHEW RYAN ADKINS

   Matthew Ryan Adkins died January 2, 1997 near Willow Springs, MO at the age of seven.  He was born February 24, 1989 in West Plains, MO to Carolyn Sue Moore and Rocky Adkins.  He was attending first grade.
   Although his life was short, Matthew touched so many people with this smile and loving heart.
   He will be missed by his parents, Carolyn and Sidney Wofford of the home; his brother and sister, Jessica and Rocky Adkins, both of the home; his grandparents, Thelma Arnold of Willow Springs, Phyllis Adkins of Willow Springs, Lulla Moore of Edwards, MO, and Lonnie Denney of Ponca City, OK; his great-grandfather, Harvey Adkins of Willow Springs and many other relatives and many, many friends.
   Services were held January 7, 1997 in the Hiler Chapel with Reverend Emmett Thomure of Summersville officiating.  Burial was in Antioch Cemetery in Hartshorn, Mo under the direction of Hiler Funeral Home.
