First few trips to the track resulted in a best time of 15.7 seconds. The poor time is mainly do to a mismatched camshaft and restricive stock exhaust and heads not allowing the motor to breath. |

To correct the mismatched combination a new cam was installed and the heads were improved. These modifications resulted in a 14.6 sec. 1/4 mile. |

Head work performed: pocket porting, bowls blended, 3 angle valve job, milled .035in.

Traction was becoming a major problem so Mickey Thompson E.T. Street tires were the next modification. Also headers were installed to help the engine breath better. The result is a 13.8 sec. 1/4 mile. |

The last thing holding back the motor is the small exhaust system. A 3in cat back system was installed along with cutouts just after the headers. A new y-pipe was fabricated with 2 1/2in. pipes coming straight back from the headers and joining into the 3in. cat back system. This exhaust upgrade added a lot of high end horse power resulting in a 13.5 sec 1/4 mile through the full exhaust system.. I ran a 13.4 with the cut outs opened. I think a 13.3 or 13.2 is possible with good track conditions and weather. |
