GAME PLAY
She puts the 5 on the side Two players compete. Three answers are read. Jim reads a clue that pertains to two of them. The first player to buzz-in guesses, and if right earns control of the cards. If they’re wrong, the opponent gets control. A card is then dealt and the player decides where to put it on a board of five spaces. They can put it on their side, the opponents or the middle. More cards are dealt until one is placed in each of those slots. Another question is asked. The player in control then decides to take a card or give it to their opponent. If they take the card and it is equal to or between theirs and the middle card, they win a hand. If they give the card away and it is not in between the two, they also win a hand. If the opposite of these happens, their opponent wins. If an insurance card is dealt, it is put aside. The first to win three hands wins the match.

3 is a good choice for the outside Paid in chips - cool! The winner takes all the insurance cards into the bonus round, “Pot Limit.” To start, the player is given $1,000. A deck is used that has four extra aces and four extra twos. Also in the deck are four jokers, which are worth a bonus $1,000. Jim deals a card, and the player decides where to put it, the middle or outside of a three-space board. They can use an insurance marker to change any card they don’t like. After two cards are placed, the player bets from $100 to everything they have. If the next card dealt makes a correct hand as in the main game, they win their bet. They lose their bet if the card dealt doesn’t make a right hand. Three hands are played. If the player accumulates $2,000 or more they win a prize. If they earn $4,000 or more they win the first prize and another gift. Making more $5,000 or more earns the player a car plus the other two prizes.

NOTES
Jim McKrell previously hosted “Celebrity Sweepstakes.” More recently, he was soon hosting “Genesis” a bible-based game show. The pilot aired on PAX TV.

One of the few pilots to use a slide reading "commercial" instead of black space.

MY THOUGHTS
A very fun pilot. Jim McKrell does a good job, despite stumbling a few times. The toss-ups require a little bit of clever thinking, and there’s some strategy involved to placing the cards. The set and graphics are kind of gawdy, but the music is cool.

JAY SAYS...
Cast – 2.0
Game – 1.5
Bells and Whistles – 1.5
Prize – 1.0
Tilt – 1.5

A few things hold it back. Viewers might not understand the main concept of the game, which is noticeably more confusing than other games such as “Card Sharks.” The bonus especially could have been simplified a bit, too. Rewards are decent, but they could fix the betting and prize structure to make it less confusing also. Certainly with tweaking could have sold.
