The bonus round called the "Hot Spot" involved all three players. A board was shown with ten letters and three subjects. The first player in line selected a category and the clock started at a minute. The second player picked a letter and the third gave an item in that subject beginning with that letter. If correct, the letter was eliminated from play. If all ten were eliminated, the player won $5,000. If they failed, $100 a letter. Two games were played in the same show, losing players were replaced by a new contestant.
NOTES
Steve Edwards is still a newsman in Los Angeles, and hosts the syndicated "Good Day Live." This was one of a handful of game show ventures for Edwards.
The celebrities on the pilot were John Ritter, Robert Urich, Lynne Green and Debralee Scott.
MY THOUGHTS
The first try at the "Go" format. It's an okay one, but there are some problems. The set is so-so, Steve Edwards looks ill-at-ease as host and the end game was nothing to do with the front game. It's also produced pretty sloppily, but I only took half off my tilt for that.
