WHEN I WAS YOUNG...

This a group of proposals I did some years back. They are not on the main proposals page, because...well, they're bad. Some are flawed in the title, others in the format, and others are just plain bad.

These are word for word from the rule sheets I had typed at the time, with minor corrections to make them easier to read. Some have grammatical errors. Each is complete, so this page is a bit long. To navigate, click the links below.

Get a Clue | Super Words | Wild Card

"THE AMAZING TRIVIA GAME"

Object: Have the most money by end and win grand prize in "The Amazing Bonus Round."

Round One: Two teams of two, or teams play. The team/player who won the toss-up question (worth nothing) selects a letter from "TRIVIA." Each represents a category told to them AFTER is is selected. The first team/player to buzz-in with the correct answer gets control and $100. Each following question in the category is $200, then $300. After three, the category is done. After time is up (7 min) round one ends.

A team/player wagers out of teir winnings on a question in a category told to them. Then they write down their answer and either win or lose money. (You lose money for wrong answers in round two) If have 0 wager highest amount on board. You cannot go negative. The team/player with the highest goes to the "Amazing Bonus Round."

"The Amazing Bonus Round": They select a letter out of "TRIVIA." It represents a prize which is not yet revealed. The player had thirty seconds to answer six questions. If successful, gets prize. If not, gets home game and prize (TV, stereo, big appliance, etc.)

High Score: $10,800.
(Ed. Note: If this game sounds dry to you, the concept was to have a "Remote Control" atmosphere with skits and a generally sarcastic attitude towards the game.)

The first is worth two, and all others increase by two. The second player goes the same way. The last category is played jump-in wise, with every question worth five points. Every twenty-five accumulated inthis round are worth $200.

Round Three: This time, the other player selects the category out of three. There are ten questions, but the other can't steal. The other player plays in the same manner. "FACE-OFF" (Proposal 2)
--------------------------------------
Object: Have most points after three rounds and try to buy a car for free.

Round One: Two players "Face-Off." Twenty questions are asked with the first being one point and all others increasing by two points. After all questions, every twenty points is worth $100. The one with the highest points at the end of the round picks one of two subjects. They can risk 5, 10 or 20 of their points. They win points for right answer and lose for wrong.

Round Two: Lowest scoring player selects one of three categories and gets a chance to answer ten questions in it. The first is worth two, and all others increase by two. If he gets one wrong or doesn't know, the other player can steal it for two points. Then the second player goes the same way. The last category left is played jump-in wise, with each question being five points. Every twenty-five points accumulated in this round are worth $200.

Round Three: This time, the other player selects for the other and they are asked ten questions in it. The first is three points and all after that increase by three. The other player can't steal. Every twenty-five points is worth $250. All points are then added up, and the player with the most plays the bonus round.

Bonus Round: Player is asked five questions each worth a coupon that takes a third off of any of three secret prizes. After all five questions are asked they choose one, two or three, and the amount of coupons. They can't use too much. Whatever is behind the door, has the price reduced accordingly. The player can buy it with his/her money, or they can turn it down and earn a strike.
(Ed. Note: Don't ask me what the strike means. The concept behind both was like "Sale of the Century" -- the money carried over so you had a better chance to buy the car. The second bonus game is really bad. But I think the idea of it could be reworked somehow in another game.)
