RAZZLE

Object: Have the most money after three rounds, and go to the bonus for $10,000.

ROUND ONE: Two players compete. They each start with five seconds of time. The host announces a category and asks a question. The answer is displayed scrambled on the video screen. The answer gradually unscrambles, and the first to buzz-in with the right answer wins time. The answer will never fully unscramble. The first question is worth three seconds, the second five, the third seven, and the last nine seconds. If a question goes unanswered, the time carries over into the next question. After all questions are asked, the players go to the board with their time.

The player with the fewest seconds goes first. A marker is stationed at the center of a board. The center is four spaces away from each players goal. Six letters appear in the marker, and the clock starts. As soon as they call out a word at least three letters long that can be made with the letters and spell it, the marker moves one step toward their goal. A wrong answer sends the marker one step towards the opponents goal. If they feel a word cant be made from those letters, they hit a bell on their desk. If they were correct in hitting it, the marker moves. If they were wrong in hitting the bell, the marker moves back a step. If they reach the goal in the time limit, they win $500. If they fail, their opponent takes a shot from wherever the marker lies. If they make it to the goal there, they win $500. If they fail, the first player receives the money.

ROUND TWO: Another round is played, with the only change being words must be a minimum of four-letters long. After one player wins $500, round three begins.

ROUND THREE: The Showdown round. The marker starts in the middle, three spaces away from each goal. Six letters appear and the first player to buzz-in with a word at least three letters long and spell it moves the marker on step towards their goal. There is no penalty for a wrong call. However, hitting the bell here puts the opponent in a challenge situation. They have five seconds after the bell to make a word from the letters. They gain a space if they are correct, and their opponent gains a space if they are incorrect or run out of time. The first player to reach the goal wins $250. The second showdown is worth $500, the third $750 and every one thereafter $1,000. When time runs out, the player with the most money wins. If there is a tie, a set of six letters appears. Each player has fifteen seconds to punch words into their built-in keypads. The player with the most acceptable words wins another $500 and the game.

BONUS ROUND: The bonus is played in two stages. The first is a time-building stage. Seven scrambled words are displayed. They have thirty-five seconds to solve them. The host gives a clue to the words identity and every second-and-a-half a letter is put in its correct spot. Each right answer they give is worth five seconds of time and $250. In the second stage they must start from one end of the board and move six spaces forward to win $10,000. If they fail, they keep the money from stage one and the game. Players can return as long as they keep winning.
