FACE-OFF

Object: Win two face-offs and face the bonus board for a new car.

ROUND ONE: Two players face-off. Three categories are put on the board and the champion picks one. Ten questions are asked – the first worth one point, and every question after worth two points more than the last. The first to jump-in with the right answer gets the points. A wrong answer takes away points but you can not go below zero. After one category, the challenger picks from the remaining two categories. Then, the last category is played for double points. The winner gets $500 and advances to the next round. The loser gets $1 for every point. Two more challengers play in the same fashion. The two winners face-off in round two.

ROUND TWO: Each contestant builds off their $500. Six categories are on the board, and the player with the highest point total in round one selects first. The first question is worth $25. After each question, a new category replaces the old one. The value of the next question is $25 more than the last. After ten questions, the game goes into speed play. The clock starts at one minute, and each question is worth plus or minus $250. Questions come from the five categories left on the board. The player with the most money advances to the bonus game, and the loser receives a bonus prize along with their cash.

BONUS ROUND: Nine new categories are put on the board, each with 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 point questions. They have two minutes to accumulate 200 points or more. They pick a subject and start with a five-point question. If they’re right, they get a ten-point question and so on. A wrong answer ends play in that category, but they may pass questions as many as five times. If they fail to earn 200 points, they get $10 for every point. If they earn 200 or more, they win a new car. Players can stay on the show for five days.
