ACROSS AMERICA

Object: Have the most money after three rounds and go to the bonus.

ROUND ONE: Three players compete. A map of the United States is shown, and five states are lit. The champion selects one. A question is asked relating to that state. If the first to buzz-in is wrong, the other two players compete with a new question. The first to buzz-in with the right answer wins $100 in their pot. They can try answering a follow-up sent in by a home viewer from that state in a similar subject. If they answer right, their pot doubles and the home player receives Across America apparel as a consolation prize. If they answer incorrectly, the pot is cut in half and the home player wins $200 plus the apparel. After every correct answer, a player has the opportunity to bank the points. New states are highlighted as the round progresses. Once a player banks $1,000 or more, they win the round and their choice of prize from three possibilities. Then, round two begins.

ROUND TWO: The Money Maker round. Descriptive clues are read leading towards the identity of a state. The first to buzz-in and name the correct state wins money. A right answer on the first clue is worth $1,000; on the second, $800. Then on the third its $600, then $400 and finally $200. Each player only gets one guess per question with no penalty for a wrong guess. The first player in the round to answer a $1,000 clue correctly wins a prize. After three states, round three begins.

ROUND THREE: Cross Country. To begin the round, the host stops a flashing light on one of the continental United States. Then, they stop the light on one of two categories. Questions are worth $300 plus for a right answer and negative $300 for a wrong answer. The player who gave the right answer then picks a new state. Eight randomly chosen states have plane tickets attached. The player can take $300 or use them to fly to Alaska or Hawaii. There, they have 30-seconds to answer two-choice multiple-choice questions with a common theme. The first right answer is worth $100 in the speed round bank, then $200 and so on. A wrong answer takes away the amount the question is worth. They can pass one question and if they wish to quit they hit their buzzer to stop the clock with the earnings they have, and add them to their total. Shortly after the half way mark in the round, a bell rings indicating the high stakes round. Questions and plane tickets go up to $500 in value. When time runs out, the player with the most cash goes to the bonus. The other two receive their cash and prizes.

BONUS ROUND: 12 states are highlighted on the map. The player gets as many questions about their home state as they can answer in 90 seconds. Each right answer takes away one state. After time runs out, the player chooses one of the remaining states on the board. One conceals a star. If they pick the right state, they win a prize package, plus a cash jackpot. The jackpot starts at $5,000 and grows by $200 for each right answer given by players who've played the bonus. Winners' banks get added to the jackpot before it is awarded as well
