My Homepage: Images Online

This is one of the first things I sold on ebay.  Although it may not look like much, I got over $100
for it because it is so rare.  Here's why.

After the first Star Wars movie came out, the demand for related toys (action figures etc.) was huge and caught the toymakers by surprise.  To make matters worse, no figures would be ready for the 1977 Christmas season.   So in order to cash in on Star Wars, they offered the Early Bird Certificate Package.  It was a flat card board package that contained a stand for the soon to be made figures some stickers and a mail in form.  The form guaranteed you the first 4 figures and would be sent to you in the mail.  So like any 8 year old, I sent in the form and waited.  And waited.  Eventually they came. Chewbacca, R2-D2, Princess Leia, and Luke with the always coveted telescoping light saber.

Nearly all my Star Wars stuff is gone now.  Sold to pay off credit card debt and buy a mortgage.  Am I better off selling my toys?  I suppose many people never do or get the chance because most are thrown away.  I would encourage you to dust off your old toys if you have them.  Take a picture and put them on Ebay.  You will be surprised by the enthusiasm you get from collectors and you get a clean basement and bigger wallet.
