| This is one of the most easily seen of the Apollo landing sites. Apollo 17 isn't the only craft that landed in this area. Lunokhod 2 was a Soviet un-manned rover that drove around the crater le Monnier. Among other space vehicles here on Earth, the Lunokhod was put up for sale by the cash desperate Russians and was sold to Richard Garriott the founder of Origin and creator of the Ultima series of role playing computer games. I hope they at least gave him a plaque or a model of the rover. |
