INTERMEDIATE SECTION:
At intermediate level the department functioning since the opening of the college i.e. 1952. The intermediate section is in the second floor of the main building of the college where we have classrooms, two hall type laboratories, a dark room & a store. DEGREE SECTION: At the degree level the subject was introduce in 1964. The degree section is in the L-half of the E-type Science block. Where we have two laboratories for experiment other than light, a dark room for light experiments & a laboratory for Modern Physics. |

POST GRADUATE SECTION (MASTER SECTION):
The master section has been started from 2000. This section lies in the Post Graduate Section of the college, in the second floor. There we have two Class Rooms, one for Previous "the previous class room" & other for Final "the final class room". Four laboratories, the General Lab, the Electronics lab, the Solid State Lab, & the Nuclear physics Lab, are in the PG portion of the college. The two labs, the Optics & spectroscopy & the Modern Physics Lab are in Science Block. There are two offices, one for Chairman & one for stuff. At Master level the subjects offered is: Previous Class 
1. Mathematical methods of Physics (Mr.Anwarul Haq)2. Electromagnetic theory (Dr.Sirajud Din) 3. Thermal & statistical mechanics (Mr.Haji Jamsheed) 4. Classical mechanics (Mr.Abdul Wadud Khan) 5. Modern Physics (Mr.Afzal Khan) In the first part the laboratories are: * Optics & Spectroscopy Laboratory: This laboratory is in the Science Block. The experiments related to light are done. The laboratory runs by respected teacher "Mr. Haji Jamshid". * General Laboratory: This laboratory is in the PG portion of the college. There are genral experiments related to Mechanics, waves, electronics etc are done. The Laboratory runs by respected chairman Haji Abdul Wadud Khan. * Modern Physics Laboratory: Theis laboratory is in the science Block. The experiments related to modern Physics are done. The laboratory runs by respected Afzal Khan. Final year: While in the final or second year the subjects are:
(1) Quantum mechanics (Afzal Khan) (2) Solid State Physics (Anwarul Haq) (3) Nuclear Physics (Dr: Sirajud Din) (4) Electronics (Mohammad Ilyas Khan) In final year the laboratories are: * Solid State Laboratory: This laboratory is in the PG portion of the college. Here the experiments related to solid materials i.e. crystallography, the hysteresis lose, the dependence of resistance on light & temperature, are done. Assignments relating to the properties of materials like permittivity & permeability are given to the student. This laboratory runs by Anwarul Haq. * Electronics Laboratory: This laboratory is in PG portion of the college. The experiments related to electronics are done. The Laboratory runs by the respected "Mohammmad Ilyas Khan" of the electronics department of the college. * Nuclear physics Laboratory: The laboratory is in the PG portion of the college. The experiments related to the nuclear physics with the source of Alpha, beta & Gamma source. The laboratory runs by Dr: Sirajud Din. Seminars in the Department: There are seminars every Friday in the week, which are organized by the organizer Anwar ul Haq Lecturer in Physics under the supervision of the chief organizer Prof: Abdulwadud Chairman Physics Department. The speakers from outside are invited or the lecture is arranged in the department. Admission in the Postgraduate Classes: The admission is processed by the department under the rules & regulation of the University of Peshawar, under the supervision of the admission committee headed by the Chairman of the Department. In the admission committee the members are all the local teachers in the Physics Department. * There are thirty, (30) sets for admission in the previous. * Both the male & female can apply. There are no reserves sets. * The admission is pure on the merit basis. The Department gives an entry test before the merit list. * The merit list is made as: Marks Obtained + Physics marks + Entry Test marks = merit Marks * The classes are arranged just after the completion of admission with full swing. *The student remain absent for seven days is stuck off according to the college rule & regulation. |
