LT. COL. HARRY E. "ANGEL" BISHER
 � � � � A native of Gladstone, Illinois, Harry E. Bisher joined the 55th. FS/20th.FG on 30 Sept., 1942. He was a flight commander from 31 Dec., 1942 through 3 February, 1943, when he was promoted to Assisatant Squadron Operations Officer. Unfortunately, on 4 March, 1944 he was listed MIA after losing an engine during a mission over Berlin and being "hacked" by an Me-109 over Belgium. He managed to evade capture, and along with Col. Montgomery escaped to Spain. Both men returned to the Group on June 17, 1944. Just over a month later he was returned to the states.� � Bisher's mount was "Kitty",a P-38 serial number 42-67823, Squadron Code KI-N. He remained in the Air Force and retired as a Lt. Col. � � Bisher was awarded the Air Medal with two clusters and the purple heart.
