Booklet from Raymond Ansley (Houston TX-7/95) states that DOM was 29 APR 1797 in Tyrrell Co NC.
Bath OH letter (advertisement) mentioned Gilbert Ansley, SR. as being in Chambers AL in 1840 AL census.
Was he in Talbot Co GA in 1828 (a Gilbert D. Ansley sold 202.5 acres (for $500) to Drewry Averett on 4 MAR 1828.

Gilbert's father William transferred 200 acres of land in Orange Co., North Carolina to Gilbert in 1798. This transfer was witnessed by Gilbert's brother David. Gilbert moved from Orange Co., North Carolina with his brother David and his father William in late 1798 or early 1799 to Abbeville District, South Carolina It appears that Gilbert moved back to North Carolina after 1800.

Sometime between 1817 and 1822. Samuel marrried Celia Watts (see Watts (b abt. 1783 in NC)) abt 1797. Samuel's will was registered 26 Sept 1838 in Lownes Co. Alabama. Samuel is listed in the 1830 Alabama census as living in Lownes County and having a household of 4 white males (including himself), (the census does not list names). Samuel died 5 Jul 1842 in Lowndes County Alabama.

The following is an excerpt from Rev. J. W. Joyner's book, A History of the
Baptists in Butler County ( 1819-1957). Surnames have been capitolized for
easier visualization.
This church is located in the northweat part of the county in the village of
Forest Home. The church was organized in the year 1856, and until the year
1885 was called Ebenezer. The first records of the church were destroyed by
fire and the presbytery in charge is not known. However, the following
