Francis D. Rock (Frank)-Born 1 Sep 1888 in Bridgeport Cn. Francis Rock married Sarah Ellen Carey (see Carey)abt. 1914 in Waterbury Cn. They had three children: Ann Gertrude, Frances and John Francis. After graduating from high school Francis went to Bridgeport College where he was an outstanding football player. After college Frank worked for the American Chain Company. Francis then moved to Waterbury Cn. where he worked for Barlow's Sheet Metals and played semi-professional football for the Mulligan Blues Football Team . This was a time before the NFL and local football teams where how the sport progressed. The Mulligan Blues were one of the strongest teams in New England. Francis died before 23 Jul 1949 in Waterbury Cn.

DIED: ROCK - In this city, July 23, 1949, Frank Rock of North Main St.; Waterbury. Aged 60.
Frank Rock
Frank Rock, 60, North Main St., died suddenly yesterday morning. Death was due to natural causes according to Dr. Harold F. Morrill, assistant medical examiner.
Mr. Rock was born in Bridgeport, Sept. 1, 1888, son of the late John and Ann (Carey) Rock. He lived in Waterbury for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen; a son, John, and a daughter, Mrs. Francis Larson, all of Waterbury; a brother, William; and a sister, Mrs. Ann Healey, both of Bridgeport.
The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 8:30 from the Lunny Funeral Home, 25 Central Ave., to the Immaculate Conception Church for a Mass at 9. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be private calling hours at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.

Sarah Ellen Carey-Born 22 Feb 1889 in Waterbury Cn. Sarah worked in a clock factory in Waterbury Cn. Sarah married Francis Rock (see Rock) abt. 1914 in Waterbury Cn. Sarah lived her entire life in Waterbury, Cn. and died 28 Jun. 1960 she was residing with her daughter Frances when she died. Sarah is burried in the Mt. Olive Cementary in Watertown Cn. No. 307 section 1. Her wake was held at the O'Donnell Funeral Home in Waterbury Cn. They had three children

Mrs. Ellen S. (Carey) Rock widow of Frank E. Rock, Died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Frances Larson, 25 Perkins Ave., last night after a long illness.
Born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Peter and Martha (Ellis) Carey, she was a communicant of St. Michael's Church.
She is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Ann Rock Burke, Bronxville, N.Y.; and one son, John F. Rock, Cheshire: a sister, Mrs. Charles Schmidt; two brothers, Francis E. Carey and Fred J. Carey, both of Waterbury; nine grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Friday, time to be announced, from the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St., to St. Michael's Church for a solemn high Mass. Place of burial will be announced. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 10 and tomorrow from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.ROCK - In this city June 28, 1960, Mrs. Ellen S. (Carey) rock, widow of Frank E.
